Our Website Pricing Explained: What Each Plan Includes
A line-by-line look at Cloud Jay's Starter, Business and Online Store website prices: what is included, what is not, and which plan fits your business.
Most web design companies hide their prices behind a "request a quote" button. We publish ours, because a number you can see is easier to trust than a number you have to chase. This guide walks through each website plan on our pricing section, explains what the money pays for, and tells you honestly who each plan is for.
All prices are once-off build prices, include VAT, and are "from" prices. The final quote depends on your scope, which we confirm in a short scoping call before any work starts.
The three website plans at a glance
| Plan | From (incl. VAT) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Starter Site | R6,500 | A new or small business that needs a professional presence online |
| Business Site | R18,000 | An established business that wants a custom design that wins enquiries |
| Online Store | R20,000 (currently on sale for R12,000) | A business selling products online with local payments and shipping |
Starter Site: from R6,500
The Starter Site is a clean, mobile-friendly brochure site. It gets you found, makes you look credible, and gives customers an easy way to contact you.
What is included:
- Up to five pages, typically Home, About, Services, Contact and one more.
- A responsive design that works on phones, tablets and desktops.
- A contact and enquiry form that sends to your inbox.
- Basic SEO setup, so search engines can read and index the site.
- Domain and business email setup.
What it is not: a fully custom design process. The Starter Site is built to a proven layout, adapted to your branding. That is how we keep the price low without cutting corners on quality.
Who it suits: sole traders, new businesses and service providers whose main goal is "people can find us and call us". If that is you, there is no reason to pay for more. Our guide on what your business website needs helps you decide what to put on those five pages.
Business Site: from R18,000
The Business Site is for companies where the website is a genuine sales tool.
What is included:
- Original design, up to 15 pages.
- An editable content management system (CMS), so you can update text and images without calling a developer.
- On-page SEO and analytics, so you can see where visitors come from.
- Speed and security hardening.
- Training, and 30 days of support after launch.
What changes from the Starter: the design is created around your brand and your customers, not adapted from a template. You also get room to grow: more pages, more service detail, and a site you can maintain yourself.
Who it suits: established businesses that compete on trust, such as professional services, trades, medical practices, schools and manufacturers. If your competitors have polished sites, this is the plan that keeps you level with them. See common website mistakes that lose customers for what a stronger site avoids.
Online Store: from R20,000, currently R12,000
The Online Store is a custom-built WooCommerce shop with South African payments and shipping built in.
What is included:
- A custom theme and custom plugins, built by us, so you do not pay licence fees for premium add-ons.
- A WooCommerce store for up to 50 products.
- A South African payment gateway connected and tested.
- Shipping rates and VAT set up correctly.
- Order emails and basic stock management.
- Training, and 30 days of support after launch.
Why a custom build? Off-the-shelf themes and paid plugins are cheap on day one and awkward on day 300, when you need something they cannot do. Because we build the theme and plugins to your requirements, the store does what your business needs, and you are not renting your own features from a plugin vendor.
A note on the sale price: the Online Store is currently discounted from R20,000 to R12,000. Sales end, so check the pricing section for the current price. Compare the full picture in our guides on what an ecommerce website costs and Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom store.
What is not in the build price
Honest pricing means telling you about the costs that sit outside the build:
- Hosting, domain and care plan: from R350 per month. This covers keeping the site online, updated, backed up and monitored. We explain why this matters in website maintenance plans explained.
- Payment gateway fees: charged by your gateway provider on each transaction, not by us. See South African payment gateways for online stores.
- Content: if you want us to write the copy or arrange photography, that is quoted separately. If you supply good content, the project is faster and cheaper.
- Products beyond 50, or extra features: these are scoped and quoted on top of the plan.
How to choose between the plans
Ask yourself three questions:
- Is the website how customers decide to trust us? If yes, choose the Business Site.
- Do we need to take payments online? If yes, you need the Online Store.
- Do we just need to be found and contacted? The Starter Site is enough.
You can also start small and upgrade. A Starter Site today does not prevent a Business Site later, though a redesign is easier if you plan for it. Read how to plan your website structure and sitemap before you begin.
How the process works
- Scoping call. We ask about your business, customers and goals, and agree what pages and features you need.
- Fixed quote. You get a written scope and price. If the scope changes, we tell you the cost before doing the work.
- Design and build. You review progress at set points, so there are no surprises.
- Launch, training and support. We go live, show you how to manage the site, and stay on hand for the first 30 days.

Compare us fairly
When you compare our prices with other quotes, line them up on scope, content, ownership and support, as described in how to choose a web developer in South Africa. You should own your site, your domain and your content at the end of the project. With us, you do.
Ready for a number?
If you already know roughly what you need, contact us for a quote. If you are not sure, tell us about your business and we will recommend the smallest plan that does the job, even if that means a lower price for us.
